So much better than drilling through your toe

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. We've all been very sick around my house. Finally, I get to feeling better and I crushed my toe yesterday. Talk about SERIOUS pain. I thought I would take time to share this little tip that I came across at about 3 am last night that was seriously such a sweet, sweet tip to find. After HOURS of extreme pressure from the blood under my toenails having nowhere to go, I discovered a way to remove the blood without having to drill into the toenail. I just couldn't get myself to drill into it...and wasn't about to go to the doctor and pay for something I could do myself if I could just get up the nerve to do it. Well, I discovered that you can melt through your toenail by heating up a paperclip. Simply take the paperclip, heat it in a fire until it is glowing red, and then hold it to your toenail. You'll hear a crackling sound and a smell like burnt hair. Keep pushing and finally the blood will release out of the hole. It doesn't hurt as you melt the toenail but does hurt as the heat reaches the toenail bed. However, seconds after the blood will release so you won't even care because you are finally out of agonizing pain. I've had blood under toenails before from dropping items on them--but nothing like this time. Within seconds, my entire toe was a bright blue and the pain was almost unbearable. So this is kind of a strange thing to write about on my blog, but thought it might help someone in the future. So much better than drilling through your toe.

Oh, you poor thing.

I read this post wincing as it sounded like something that would take a lot of courage to do.

I don't think my brain would have ever thought of doing this and even if it had, I don't think I would have been as brave as you.

I hope that you have a chance to relax today with your foot up.

Hopefully, this will be the end of sickness for you and your family and having to come up with ingeniuos ways to treat yourself.

Thank you for your kind words and thoughts about the situation here in Australia. It is beyond devasting to see the apocalyptic scenes that are in our media and hear so many heart wrenching stories about the horrific bushfires that have claimed 181 precious lives.

Australians are all uniting to support the victims, so far 30 million dollars has been pledged by the public to the Red Cross. Also, so many businesses and people have come forward to donate and help all those that have been affected.

Our family has not been directly affected (as in, our family members and friends do not live in the cities and towns where the fires are), however when something like this happens how can you not be affected.

While we have ferocious fires in the South, we also have devastating floods in the north that are also causing so much loss, destruction and devastation.

To know that you are thinking of us is comforting. Thank you so much for your thoughts.

Take care and lots of love
Elise

I read about this method, too! I wonder if the toenail still falls off, though.
