I haven't started on this project and hope some of the other Montessori moms can help me out. Since my daugher just turned 2 a few months ago, right now should she simply be allowed to look at the objects? How can I use continent boxes with a toddler? Well, I'm going to try. So what are continent boxes? Continent boxes are used to enhance the learning of geography and culture. The box should contain small objects related to the continent in question and a folder showing photos of daily life people at work, leisure time, animals, crafts, landscape, plants, art, and ect. Here is a checklist to help you out-
___currency
___stamps
___items used in local festivals
___cd of the music
___children books
___recipes
___flag
___toys/games
___craft
___dolls in traditional attire
___photographs
__continent matching cards

What a great idea. I've never done this exactly but we've had themes where we've done a whole bunch of stuff related to one particular culture, country, etc. I am really big into learning about world cultures and diversity.
