All the credit for this activity should go to Montessori Free Fall--

Items needed include:

  • 5 different grades of sandpaper, 60, 100, 150, 220, & 400

  • 1 Elmer's Foam Board

  • Permanent Double Sided Tape

  • Pencil

  • Razor Blade

  • Ruler

To make Touch Board #1, I cut a piece of foam board 10" x 5 1/2". Then I cut a 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" square of 150 grade sandpaper and used the double-sided tape to stick the sandpaper on one side of the board. To make Touch Board #2, I cut a 1" x 4 1/2" strip of each of the five sandpapers. I taped them onto another board of the same size as board #1, leaving an inch between each strip. Here is a picture of them completed
