This week our toddler learning theme is Rainbows. We've done a few things today, but come back tomorrow and see many more of our adventures in learning.
I use our garage (where we also hold school) walls as a gallery of Zhana's artwork. To go with the artwork she is busy creating in the theme of artwork, I made a wall quote using clear contact paper that says, “The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you do the work.” It doesn't look great, but it is a garage afterall and serves its purpose.
Zhana and I made a Rainbow theme book. She did a some of the coloring but I did most of the work on this project. In addition to just rainbow, I incorporated the Noah Arc theme. It's technically not a lapbook as it is too small and just some cardstock folded and laminated, however, I used other Rainbow themed lapbooks online as a guide.
On the inside a made a color mixing chart showing the primary colors and which colors are mixed together to make other colors. See this link, for an example:
